Community Projects and Activities

In 2003, the Steering Committee voted to become involved in several community service projects as the opportunities arise. Committee members are investigating participation in the Avon Breast Cancer Walk, Children’s Hospital Radioathon, and the Professional Business Women’s Conference (PBWC).

Ongoing, EBWIBR is a supporter of Wardrobe for Opportunity, a nonprofit organization that helps low-income women in Alameda and Contra Costa counties successfully transition into the workforce. Low-income women improve their image and self-esteem with donations of quality business clothing, jewelry and accessories appropriate for job interviews and the workplace. Please bring clean, gently used items to the EBWIBR bimonthly breakfasts. Representatives from Wardrobe for Opportunity will be available to give you a receipt.
