Breakfast Meetings
Doing prompt business – building distinction

  Linda Clifford
Save the date of Friday, April 4, when the East Bay Women in Business Roundtable (EBWIBR) will host a breakfast presentation on how to do prompt business and build distinction. The presentation will be given by Linda Clifford, chief financial officer of Sacramento-based C.C. Meyers. Clifford will speak about how C.C. Meyers, the famed heavy construction contractor, has earned a reputation for speedy, cost-effective performance and completion of emergency projects such as the rebuilding of Oakland’s MacArthur Maze and the Santa Monica Freeway.

The breakfast will run from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Scott’s Seafood Grill & Bar in Jack London Square. The cost is $25 for Chamber members and $35 for non-members.

In May of 2007, C.C. Meyers completed work on the collapsed section of the MacArthur Maze in 25 days, after it fell in the April 29 gasoline tanker fire.

Similarly, C.C. Meyers rebuilt the Santa Monica Freeway in 66 days following damage from the 1994 Northridge earthquake. Exemplary work on the MacArthur Maze obtained C.C. Meyers the 2007 TRANNY Award, a prestigious honor presented by the California Transportation Foundation recognizing projects that represent excellence in transportation. The company’s innovative and re-design capabilities have distinguished it as a leader in a highly competitive industry.

As chief financial officer, Clifford supervises the financial, risk management, investment, human resources, contract, and administrative functions for C.C. Meyers. She is also responsible for business startups, related entities, patents, and real estate ventures.

Clifford has worked on residential projects in Utah, Colorado, California, and Nevada, comprising over 4,000 units in the last 18 years. She belongs to various trade and civic organizations and has held numerous offices with those organizations over the last decade, some of which include an officer of the California State University – Sacramento Construction Management Advisory Committee and Board, and an officer of the Associated General Contractors Legislative Committee.
